News of Billie Bentley's Best Built Home win has traveled quickly through the small town of Keytesville, Missouri (population 519).
“Someone asks me about it every day.” Billie says. “Just this morning, my minister even asked if it was true!”
Billie feels blessed to win what many consider the “American dream” -- a brand new home, featuring today's best building practices and built for her in her own community. While Keytesville is a slice of Americana (home to a single post office, grocery store, bank, and a few hair salons), Bentley -- now a great-grandmother -- says family will keep her there.
“There are a lot of beautiful places to live around the country, but I could never leave our kids and grandkids -- except for a vacation.”
Although she entered daily at DIYnetwork.com, Bentley considers the win of the home and brand new Ford F-Series Super Duty truck, “... a blessing. I'm still pinching myself. It's kind of mind-boggling and I'm taking it one step at a time. My daughter was thrilled I'd won and my son is just a bit jealous,” she jokes.
