  • Making Cards
  • From "Crafty Kids"
    episode DCK-109
    advertisement

A homemade card can provide a personal touch that you just won't find on a store-bought version. Using a little imagination, a lot of color and a few great products, crafter and teacher Cristy Feke shows how to make a variety of extra special cards.

    • Card-making kits are a great place to start. Your local craft store will likely have at least a few to choose from, including the Creative Card Maker and Crayola Card Shop. Each kit comes with paper and design ideas, making it easy to assemble and decorate your card.

    • When you've already put your message on a card but want to jazz it up a bit, try using glitter glue, sprinkles, or stickers -- these decorative additions will really make your words stand out!

So whether you're wishing someone a happy birthday or just saying hello, sending a homemade card will ensure that your message is remembered long after the occasion has passed.
