Don't look now -- Santa's left see-through gift boxes on the tree for some lucky recipient!

Sandi Genovese shares some creative ideas -- using die-cuts -- to wrap holiday gifts in style.

    Project Template is available using

    Materials:

    Colored, patterned paper selections
Ellison die-cut machine (use the one at your local craft or paper store)
    Ellison Door Hanger box die-cut
    Primitive Hearts die-cut
Gift and Ribbon die-cut (for tag)
    Ribbon
    Gold paper
    Gold pen
    Spray adhesive
    Double-stick tape

    1. Create double-sided paper using contrasting papers.

    2. Die-cut the door hanger box and fold on the creases (figure A).

    3. Use double-stick tape to seal the box closed on tabbed side.

    4. Cut 1" cream colored band and attached around middle of completed box (figure B).

    5. Cut four hearts. Sandwich ribbon between each pair and glue the hearts together.

    6. Tape hearts to center band and allow to dangle below.

    7. Cut a 1/2" contrasting band. Center and glue over first band and ends of the ribbon (figure C).

    8. Write "to" and "from" on the tag with a pen and attach it over the narrow band.

    9. Fold box bottom on the crease. Push half with hole in first, then fold remaining flap over.

    10. Fill box with small gifts and hang from door knob or Christmas tree.

    Project Template is available using

    Materials:

    Ellison die-cut machine
    Ellison box #6 die cut
Gift and Ribbon die-cut (for tag)
    Clear page protector
    Paper
    Silver pen
    Ribbon
    2 small jingle bells

    1. Die-cut box from clear page protector.

    2. Bend the vertical and horizontal folds outward into mountain folds.

    3. Bend the four diagonal folds inward as valley folds.

    4. Assemble box by pushing valley folds toward the center.

    5. Fill box with candy of your choice -- the brighter the better.

    6. Bring the two hanging tabs together on top of the box. Hold the tabs while sliding the box tops over the tabs. Insert the tabs through the slits on the box tops.

    7. Thread ribbon through the holes in the tabs. Add jingle bells and small gift tag. Tie ribbon to complete. Add package to tree -- if desired -- to present small treats.
