This single-pane window features Japanese handmade paper with wrinkle patterns that occur naturally when the paper is positioned.

Regular colored tissue paper was used to create this simple design.

    Materials:

    Fresh egg whites
Loose End handmade or tissue-thin paper
Silicone-treated leaves from Loose Ends or other dried leaves
    Window or glass to decorate
    Sponge brush
Iron, pressing cloth and ironing surface

    1. Select leaves and place them on an ironing surface. Cover the leaves with a pressing cloth and flatten with a warm iron.

    2. Separate eggs. Use sponge brush to coat glass generously with egg whites.

    3. Position leaves on egg-white-coated glass and adhere them to the glass by brushing with additional egg whites (figure A). Brush each leaf until it flattens. Let dry up to 24 hours.

    4. Coat leaves and glass with egg white again. Place tissue-thin paper over leaves on window and coat with egg whites (figure B). If you tear the paper, just patch it up with the egg whites.

    5. Allow to dry. When ready to remove, peel off the paper and wash egg white away with window cleaner.

Be creative and have fun with this unique project. Check out a few more examples of what you can do, right.
