Diamond Rio The members of the band Diamond Rio make beautiful music together, but in their personal lives they have widely divergent hobbies:
Lead singer and guitarist Marty Roe is a golf fanatic who always tries to find time to play, even during a busy touring schedule. His favorite thing about the game: its relaxing qualities, which make it impossible to think about anything else when he's on the links.
Keyboardist Dan Truman has been collecting baseball cards since he was 9 years old. Today the father of three sons enjoys sharing his hobby with his children , all of whom play baseball and share their dad's love of collecting.
Bass guitarist and vocalist Dana Williams loves everything about boating : transporting, cleaning, driving -- you name it. A true hobbyist if there ever was one!
Mandolinist and vocalist Gene Johnson has a lifelong passion for fine woodworking, the entire process of creating an object, from a rough piece of wood to a polished piece of art that will last far beyond his own lifetime.
Percussionist Brian Prout hails from the Northeast, but for almost 20 years he has been hooked on the thrill of skiing in the western U.S. No matter how busy he is, when the band is touring out west, he has his skis ready to hit the slopes.
Lead guitarist Jimmy Olander takes the Diamond Rio prize for daring: his hobby is skydiving! Jumping out of a plane, he says, puts everything else out of his mind -- just like pushing the reset button on a computer.
