The final step to creating the skirt is measuring and marking the layers.
- Use a seam gauge and dressmakers chalk to mark outer skirt 4" from bottom edge (figure A) and cut off the strip of fabric.
- Baste the trim on underside of the outer skirt (figure B).
- Topstitch trim onto the bottom edge of the skirt.
- Hand-finish the side slit (figure C).
