Add a hood to your sweatshirt to keep your ears toasty warm on the breeziest day. - Sew the reinforced buttonholes for the drawstrings on the hood (figure A).
- Open the buttonhole with buttonhole ripper.
- Sew and serge the center back hood seam (figure B).
- Serge the edge of the hood and sew self-facing casing (figure C).
- Pin the hood to the jacket neckline.
- Clip the jacket neckline if necessary to lie flat.
- Sew with a single stitch.
- Sew bias tape on neckline by machine using the basting stitch as guide.
- Slip-stitch bias tape by hand.
