Carefully remove the broken zipper using a seam ripper. You will need to release the waistband at the top of the zipper and remove the topstitching along the fly . Insert a new zipper, using previous stitching lines as a guide (figure A). On the side with the fly shield, you will have to open the shield facing in order to sew the zipper (figure B). Stitch the zipper tape to the facing. Restitch the top stitching, following the original lines (figure C).
