Susan Khalje demonstrates a technique for creating a flirty layered skirt and matching scarf (figure A). Materials:
1-3/4 yards chiffon fabric for each layer
3 yards satin bias tape
7" invisible zipper
1 yard 1/4" elastic
Two-layer skirt pattern Sewing notions:
Thread
Scissors
Iron
Invisible zipper foot
Serger
Seam gauge
Dressmaker's chalk Steps:
- Stitch together the right sides of the underskirt (red fabric)and serge the edge (figure B).
- Stitch together the right sides of the overskirt (floral fabric)and serge the edge.
- Baste the overskirt and underskirt together at the waist.
- Baste and serge together top and bottom layers of the skirt on each side.
