Jennifer Tan and Tammy Williams make a colorful poncho using a Tunisian post stitch, which results in a textured, three-dimensional look. By using the larger hook and ribbon yarn, the two Tunisian Princesses create an open and lacy garment that's suitable for any kind of weather.

Materials:Tunisian hook, size S 3 skeins Tartelette by Knit One Crochet Too in Sea Jewels scissors yarn needle Abbreviations: ch chain tfps Tunisian front post stitch tfpdc Tunisian front post double crochet yo yarn over tss Tunisian simple stitch Tip: For correct measurement, measure the poncho first, or try it on a couple of times while stitching. 1. Ch 34 (figure A). 2. Tfps 3 rows (figure B). This stitch is done like tss, by placing the hook around the back of the entire post instead of through the middle of the post. Remember that a row consists of a forward and a back pass.
3. Tfpdc 18 rows (figure C). This stitch is similar to tfps and double crocheting. Yo, place hook around the back of the entire post, yo, pull back around the post, yo, pull through two loops, leave final loop on the hook. These rows will also contain a forward and a back pass.
4. Tfps 3 rows.5. Sew the poncho from the large rectangle. Leave a long tail of yarn and make a knot. Fold the rectangle inside out. With a yarn needle, sew on one of the long ends, leaving a space for the head. Sew back along the same area to create strength. Knot and leave a tail long enough to weave into the project with the yarn needle. 6. Add straight or looped fringe; it's also possible to tie leftover pieces of yarn all over the poncho. Note: This poncho hangs in a modern diamond shape. Adding more or fewer rows, or adding in tss or tfps rows in between the tfpdc rows, may adjust the width.
