Ch 5, join with sl st to make a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, 8 sc into ring, join.
Rnd 2: Ch 4, *(sl st in next st, ch 3), repeat from* around, join in 1st st of 1st ch sp (8 ch-3 sps).
Rnd 3: Ch 1, 1 sc in ch-3 sp, ch 4, *(1 sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 4), repeat from * around, join (8 ch-4 sps).
Rnd 4: Ch 1, 5 sc in ea ch-4 sp around, join (40 sts).
Rnd 5: Ch 1, 1 hdc in ea st around, join (40 sts).
Rnd 6: Ch 1, *(1 dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st), repeat from * around, join (54 sts).
Rnd 7: Ch 2, 1 dc in ea st around, join.
Rnd 8: Ch 2, *(1 dc in next 8 sts, 2 dc in next st), repeat from * around, join. (60 sts)

Adding elastic:
Using a weaving needle, weave elastic through last rnd and pull it tight enough to fit securely around a bun, but not so tight that you can't put it on. Tie a knot in the elastic and put a tiny bit of glue on the knot. You want the elastic tight enough to hold your bun but not so snug that you can't get it on.
