    There's one final quick project to complete the little girl's ensemble: a cute crocheted purse designed by Marlo Cairns. Worked in the round until it reaches the desired size, it's then finished with a drawstring closer and a flower to decorate.

    crochet hook, US size H
    5 ozs Red Heart yellow #230 (main color)
    small amount Red Heart orange #254 (contrasting color)

    blo back loop only
    ch chain
    flo front loop only
    hdc half double crochet
    sc single crochet
    sl st slip stitch

    Round 1: Ch 2, work 10 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, join with a sl st to 1st hdc (10).
    Round 2: Ch 1, work 2 hdcs in each st around, join with a sl st to 1st hdc (20).
    Round 3: Ch 1, ( 2 hdc in 1st st, 1 hdc in next st, ) repeat this around, join with a sl st to 1st hdc (30).
    Round 4: Ch 1, ( 2 hdc in 1st st, 1 hdc in next 2 st, ) repeat this around, join with a sl st to 1st hdc (40).
    Round 5: Ch 1, ( 2 hdc in 1st st, 1 hdc in next 3 st, ) repeat this around, join with a sl st to 1st hdc (50).
    Round 6: Ch 1, ( 2 hdc in 1st st, 1 hdc in next 4 st, ) repeat this around, join with a sl st to 1st hdc (60).

    Round 10-25: Ch 1, hdc in each st around, join with a sl st to 1st hdc (80).
    Round 26: Ch 3, skip next st, dc in next st, ch 1, ( skip next st, dc in next st, ch 1 ) repeat around joining to the 3rd ch of the beginning ch 4.
    Round 27: Ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc in same st, ch 2, (skip next dc, 2dc,ch 2, 2dc in next dc, ch 2 [this is called a shell]) repeat around, join with a sl st the 1st dc.
    Round 28: Sl st in next dc, and in the ch 2 spaces and the next 2 dcs, doing this will get you to the chain 2 that is between each shell, sl st into the ch 2 sp, ch 3, dc, ch 2, 2 dcs in same sp, ch 2, ( in next ch 2 sp between shells work 2dc, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2 ) repeat around, join with a sl st to 3rd st of beginning ch 3, fasten off yarn.

    Ties:
    Ch 110, sl st in each st and fasten off. Make 2.

    Weave the ties through each side of the bag on Round 26 (figure A).

    Flower:
    Round 1: With yellow, ch 2, work 8 scs in 2nd chain from hook, join with sl st to 1st
    sc.
    Round 2: Ch 1, work 2 scs in each st around, join with a sl st to 1st sc. Fasten off.
    Round 3: This round is worked in the blo of each st. With orange yarn attach to the back loop of sc that you just fastened off, (ch 8, sl st in same st, sl st in next st) repeat around.
    Round 4: This round is worked in the flo of each st. Work in the flo of next st, (ch 6, sl st in same st, sl st in next st), (repeat around, join with a sl st to 1st st and fasten off yarn).
