  • Creating Plastic "Yarn"
  • At last: a use for those plastic bags that accumulate with each shopping trip!
    From "Uncommon Threads"
    episode DUCT-116

If you're looking for something new to crochet with, cut up your plastic shopping bags, tie them together and roll them into a ball to create a never-ending strand of plastic (figure A). Marlo Cairns explains how to put this plastic fiber together into a crochetable form, then shows how simple it is to crochet with it. It's a great material that can be used to make just about any type of crochet (or knit) project (figure B).
