    Embroidered Notecard
    Embroidered Notecard

    Materials:
    1 blank card
    embroidery floss, needle
    1 slide mount
    colored cardstock in assorted color
    scissors
    glue stick
    1 decorative gem

    1. Using the needle and floss, apply a running stitch around the border of the front of the card.

    2. Tear a square of bright paper to go in the center of the card; affix with glue stick. Embroider lines going out around the edges of the paper.

    3. Cut a piece of cardstock to cover the slide mount and another one to go inside the slide mount. Use the glue stick to apply each one.

    4. Use the needle and floss to sew a Southwestern design in the center of the card stock in the slide mount. Glue the gem in the center (figure A).

    5. Apply glue stick to the back of the slide mount and set it in the center of the black paper. Press in place.

    Variations: Use as thank-you notes, invitations, place settings or for any other occasion. Use all different colors of the cards for more of a fiesta look.
