Finding your keys got you going in circles? Crochet this spiral keychain to help you keep track of them.
Materials: Jaeger Aqua Cotton DK (100% mercerized cotton, 115 yd./50g): 1 ball each pink (#309) (MC) and wheat (#308) (CC) US E/4 crochet hookEditor's note: The yarn used in this project is produced in the U.K. and may not be readily available in the U.S. To find distributors, try typing "Jaeger Aqua Cotton DK" in your search engine. Approx. size: 2.75" circumference Front Crochet in a spiral: With MC, ch 5, join with sl st to form ring (do not chain1). Work 8 sc in center of ring, do not turn, start working spiral, as follows. Starting with first sc, 2 sc in each around (16 sc). Notes: 2 sc = 1 sc in next, 1 sc in next (2 sc) = 2 sc in next (1 hdc, 1 dc) = 1 hdc and 1 dc in next
The following are not rounds, just spaced apart so the pattern can be followed easily: Work *1 sc, (2 sc)* 9 times (make sure you count). Switch to CC (figure A). Work *2 sc, (2 sc)* twice. Work 1 hdc, (1 hdc, 1 dc), 1 dc, (2 dc), 1 dc, (2 hdc), 1 hdc, (2 sc), 2 sc, (2 sc), 3 sc. Switch to MC. 2 sc, (2 sc), 3 sc, (2 sc), 2 sc, (2 sc), 4 sc, (2 sc), 2 sc, (2 sc), 5 sc, (2 sc), 29 sc, (2 sc) 15 sc, sl st to next.Back: Work the same as front, but switch MC and CC to make a mirror image of the front.
Sew front and back together: Place front and back wrong sides together (figure B), using sl st, crochet through one loop of each side, secure around. Leave a small opening to add stuffing or extra yarn, turn right side out, then secure the rest of the way. Add a little chainstitch loop to attach to a keyring. You don't really have to weave the ends in because they won't be seen!
