    5 yds. coordinating ribbon trim
3 wooden coat hangers with metal hooks
    large-eye tapestry needle
    plastic crochet hook, size Q

    1. Tear fabric into one continuous 2" strip by turning at the selvage (figure A). Roll strip into a ball.

    2. Create a slipknot and then ch enough stitches to stretch the length of the coat hanger. Ch 2 more stitches.

    3. Skip the first 2 ch and then sc into the third ch. Sc to the end (figure B). Ch 2 and repeat for 4 rows.

    4. When the rectangle is wide enough, slip the coat hanger hook through the crochet and wrap the crochet around the wood.

    5. Secure by hand-sewing (using a whipstitch or similar stitch) with ribbon and a tapestry needle so that the stitches are visible (figure C).
