 Figure A

green duck cloth/canvas polyfill for pillows 3 skeins Lion Brand Incredible Ribbon Yarn in City Lights crochet hook, size P tapestry/yarn needle, #16Abbreviations: ch (chain) dc (double crochet) sc (single crochet) Pillow: Use a standard size pillow, or you can make your own using the duck cloth/canvas and stuffing it with the polyfill (figure A). Cut two pieces of fabric to the size that you want the pillow to be. Sew around three ends and halfway around the fourth end, with the right sides of the fabric facing. Next, turn the pillow right side out, stuff and hand-sew up the remaining opening. Pillowcase/covering: The complementing pillow cover will be the same measurements as the pillow. Cut out the fabric and sew 3 sides leaving one side open to put the pillow in. So basically you're making a pillowcase. Turn the pillowcase right side out. Then insert the pillow and sew up the final end.

 Figure B

Pillow sham (solid rows): Rows 1-4: Ch 40, dc in third ch from hook and in each chain across (a total of 38 dc), ch 3, turn. Work a total of 4 dc rows. Ch 5, turn.Pillow sham (lattice/mesh pattern): Counting the dc under the ch 5, * sc in the third dc, ch 5 * repeat from * across, work last sc in top of ch 3, ch 5, turn. Work 5 rows total. Ch 3, turn. Repeat lattice/mesh pattern and solid rows until you've reached desired width, ending with 4 dc rows. Finishing: Cover pillow with crocheted rectangle (figure B). Stitch all sides. To get the "sham" effect, count 10 stitches in from each side and using a basic "tacking" stitch, weave the yarn needle in and out of the stitches until you come to the opposite end. Repeat on other side.
