    Materials:
    yarn
       1 ball of South West Trading Company Fur Real in Cardinal
       1 ball of South West Trading Company Bamboo in White
    1 pair #6 straight needles
    1 pair #1 straight needles
    yarn needle

    Finished Size
    7" circumference

    Gauge
    4 rows in fur and #6 needles = 3/4", 11-1/2 sts in fur and #6 needles = 2"

    Stitch(es)
    Knit
    Purl
    Stockinette Stitch - Knit 1 row. Purl the next row. Repeat these two rows.
    K into bar between needles - Lift the horizontal bar of yarn between the needles with the left needle. Knit into the back of that loop. This is an increase.
    SKP - Slip one stitch to the right needle, Knit the next stitch, Pass the slipped stitch over the one just knitted. This is a left-slanting decrease.
    K2tog - Knit 2 stitches together. This is a right-slanting decrease.

    1. With #6 needles and Fur Real, cast on 40 stitches.
    2. Knit 4 rows (figure B).
    3. Bind off.

    1. With #1 needles and Bamboo, cast on 3 stitches.
    2. Work the next 2 rows in Stockinette Stitch.
    3. K1, Knit into the front and back of the next stitch, K1. (4 sts total)
    4. Purl next row.
    5. K1, Knit into bar between needles, K2, K into bar between needles, K1. (6 sts)
    6. Purl next row.
    7. K1, Knit into bar between needles, K4, Knit into bar between needles, K1. (8 sts)
    8. Purl next row.
    9. K1, SKP, K2, K2tog, K1. (6 sts)
    10. Purl next row.
    11. K1, SKP, K2tog, K1. (4 sts)
    12. Purl next row.
    13. K1, K2tog, K1. (3 sts)
    14. Purl next row.
    15. Work the next 6 rows in Stockinette Stitch.
    16. Repeat Steps 3 -15 four more times.
    17. Repeat Steps 3 -14 once more.
    18. Work the next 4 rows in Stockinette Stitch.
    19. Bind off leaving a 24" tail for sewing.

    Using yarn needle and 24" tail, sew bead strip to the top of fur base (figure D). Attach cast on and bind off ends to create a circle. Weave in ends. Embellish with beads as desired.
