    Knit Steering Wheel Cover
    Materials:
    yarn
      Moda•Dea Espree - 1 ball Grassy (#2630)
    1 pair #9 straight needles
    3 pieces of nonskid rubber rug backing 2 1/2" wide x 9" long
    5 yards embroidery floss
    sewing needle
    yarn needle

    Gauge: 11 stitches and 16 rows = 2"

    Knitting:
    With #9 needles, cast on 22 stitches.

    Knit 2 rows (figure A).

    Purl 2 rows (figure B).

    Repeat these 4 rows until piece measures 21" from beginning.

    Bind off leaving a 6" tail.

    Finishing:
    1. Lay knitted strip down on flat surface.

    2. Evenly space 3 pieces of nonskid rubber rug backing onto the fur strip.

    3. Using sewing needle and 3 strands of embroidery floss, loosely sew the nonskid rubber pieces to the fur strip by inserting the sewing needle up and down through fabric in a straight line (running stitch) (figure C).

    4. Whip stitch the CO and BO edges with 6" tail of fur yarn to create circle (figure D). Weave in ends and turn right side out.

    Stretch over car steering wheel.
