    Knit Silver-and-Gold Shrug
    Difficulty rating: Easy

    Sizes: S (M, L)
    Shoulder width: 18-1/2 (21, 23)" [47 (53.5, 58.5) cm]
    Length" 7 (8, 9)" [18 (20.5, 23) cm]
    Note: Pattern is written for smallest size with changes for larger sizes in parentheses. When only one number is given, it applies to all sizes. To follow pattern more easily, circle all numbers pertaining to your size before beginning.

    Materials:

    Lion Brand Festive Fur: 2 (2, 3) balls #170 (Gold) (A); 2 (2, 3) balls #150 (Silver) (B) or colors of your choice
    knitting needles, U.S. size 13 [9 mm] or size to obtain gauge
    large-eyed blunt needle

    Gauge: 12 sts + 16 rows = 4" [10 cm] in Garter st (knit every row) with 1 strand each of A and B held together.
    Be sure to check your gauge.

    k2tog knit 2 together

    With 1 strand each of A and B held together, loosely cast on 42 (48, 54) sts. Work in Garter st for 1 1/2 (1 1/2, 2)" [4 (4, 5) cm] (figure A).
    Dec Row 1 (RS) K2tog, k to end of row.
    Dec Row 2 Knit to last 2 sts, k2tog.
    Repeat last 2 rows until 22 (24, 27) sts remain. Work even in Garter st for 5 1/2 (6, 5 1/2)" [14 (15, 14) cm], ending with a WS row.
    Inc Row 1 (RS) Knit in front and back of first st, k to end of row.
    Inc Row 2 Knit to last st, k in front and back of last st.
    Repeat last 2 rows until there are 42 (48, 54) sts. Work even in Garter st for an additional 1 1/2 (1 1/2, 2)" [4 (4, 5) cm]. Bind off loosely.

    Finishing:
    Fold Shrug lengthwise (figure B) and sew 1-1/2 (1 1/2, 2)" [4 (4, 5) cm] underarm seams. Weave in ends.
