Barry Klein has a few more scarves that he's knit from novelty yarns, but first he helps one of the Knitsters unravel a yarn dilemma.
Q: How do you keep chenille yarn from raveling?A: You can tie off the ends, or you can apply either clear nail polish or glue to them. One product that works great is a nylon glue called Fray Check™; it's available in most sewing or crafts stores. Here are some more fun knits made of novelty yarns: - The long mauve scarf (figure A) is made from a Prism yarn called Wild Stuff and then embellished with ribbon.
- The pastel bias-knit scarf (figure B) is knit from a component yarn that is accented with stripes of two solid colors.
- The multicolor scarf (figure C) is knit from Impressions, a thicker version of Wild Stuff. It's worked on the diagonal on large (size 17 or 19) needles.
