Cut yarn and fasten off. Inner Ears (make 2) With a single strand of contrast color, cast on 10 sts and work the same as outer ear. Prepare for Felting Note about seams: All seams should be sewn with a single strand of the wool yarn used in the bunny, changing color at join if a contrast was used. Sew flat seams, just catching the edges together and keep tension loose. The seams will not be visible after felting.
Face and Leg SeamsMatch the point of the nose with the point of the chin piece. Sew down each side. Easing the cast-on edge of shoulders to fit between markers on chest, continue the seam down the inside of the front legs. Repeat on other side. Match the 2 cast-on sts of the back piece with the 2 cast-on sts of the tummy section. Sew from the center out down each back leg, ending by sewing the cast-off sts together for paw. Assemble and Attach Ears Lay out one outer ear with purl side up. Place an inner ear on top of the outer ear with purl side up and a full st of outer ear showing around the outer edge. Sew ears together with a slipstitch, using yarn to match the inner ear. Lay bunny face up on a flat surface and mark position with pins, taking care to keep them even and slightly cupping the lower edges. The ears on our bunny were placed about 1/2" apart. When you are happy with the position, sew the cast-on edge to the head with an overcast stitch on both the front and back of the ears. Next: Woven Woolen Rug
