    episode DKNG-304

Remember spool-knitting when you were a kid? Well, here it is again: all grown up!

    Wyr Knittr by Bond America
30 gauge, Artistic Wire, 1 spool Silvered Yellow
72 crackle beads, 8 mm, color purple
1 clasp with 2 jump rings
    Chain-nose pliers
    Wire cutters

Following the directions that come with the Wyr Knittr, begin knitting for about six rows (figure A). Be sure both weights are placed (figure B). Begin dropping beads one at a time into the center of the knitting, gently pushing them down into the knitting (figure C). Knit very slowly, when you can see a small gap insert another bead and push down until it touches the last bead placed. The beads should be tight against each other. Gently push them down as you work.

When you have knit 18" work about 6 rounds without beads. Cut the wire leaving about a 12" tail. Remove the weights, knit one round slowly, the necklace will fall through the center of the Wyr Knittr, be very careful to catch it so the last stitch doesn't get pulled too large. Remove completely from Wyr Knittr.

Clean up both ends of the necklace by finishing off the open edges and sewing the jump rings and the clasp to both ends. If necessary use the chain-nose pliers to tighten the jump rings.
