    Materials
    Muench/GGH Goa (50% cotton, 50% acrylic; 50g, 55 yards per skein) in the following colors (all sizes): 1 skein 10 Hot Pink (A), 1 skein 35 Barbie Pink (B), 1 skein 03 White (C)
    U.S. size 10 double-pointed needles
    U.S. size 10 16" circular needle
    Stitch marker
    Tapestry needle

    Finished Sizes
    0-6 mos (1-2 yrs, 3-6 yrs, child-adult)
    15 (17.25, 19.25, 21.5) inches

    Gauge
    13 sts and 19 rows = 4" on in St st on size 10 needles

    Note: Remember that many yarns are seasonal and could be discontinued. If the specific yarn called for is not available, purchase a substitution yarn that comes closest to the specified gauge in your pattern. And be sure to make that all-important swatch to see whether the yarn works for your particular pattern.

    Hat
    With A CO 49 (56, 63, 70) sts. Join in the round and place marker.
    Knit 9(10, 11, 12) rounds A.
    Change to B and knit 6 (5, 6, 5) rounds.

    Crown Shaping
    Next round: *K5 (6, 7, 8), K2tog, repeat from * around.
    Knit 1 round.
    Next round: *K4 (5, 6, 7), K2tog, repeat from * around. Size 0-6 mos change to C.
    Knit 1 round.
    Next round: *K3 (4, 5, 6), K2tog, repeat from * around. Size1-2 yrs (3-6 yrs) change to C.
    Knit 1 round.
    Next round: *K2 (3, 4, 5), K2tog, repeat from * around. Size child-adult change to C.
    Knit 1 round.
    Continue in this manner, alternating 1 dec round with one plain round and working 1 less st before decrease with each dec round until you have completed the* K0, K2tog* round–7 sts remaining.

    Break yarn, thread through tapestry needle and draw through remaining sts.

    Weave in ends.

    Knit Bit: Want a quick trick for making a center pull ball? Try using a medicine bottle. Place the end of the yarn inside the bottle, clip on the lid and then wind the rest of the yarn around the bottle. Remove the cap, slide off the ball from the bottle and voila! A ball of yarn that you can pull from the center!
