    After the ribbed section of the sweater has been completed, you'll change to a lighter-weight mohair yarn to complete the bodice and sleeves. Because the mohair is finer than the cotton yarn (figure A), it will be necessary to work a series of increases over the first row to make both sections equal in size.

    Top of Body
    With CC and smaller circular needle, (K1, inc1) to end of round (figure B), picking up sts along back of each belt loop and working them in inc patt as est as you pass them [198 (216, 234,252,270) sts].
    Work even in St st for 5 (5.5, 6, 6.5, 7)".
    K 42 (41, 49, 48, 56), place 15 (17, 19, 20, 23) sts on holder.

    Sleeve
    With a new ball of CC and smaller dpns, CO 70 (76, 82, 89, 95) sts and divide between needles.
    Join and work in St st until 1.5 (2, 2.5, 3, 3.5)" from beg. Place 15 (17, 19, 20, 22) sts on holder.

    Join Sleeve to Body
    With smaller circular needle holding body sts, k 55 (59, 63, 69, 72) sts from the sleeve (figure C). K 84 (91, 98, 106, 112) body stitches. Place 15 (17, 19, 20, 23) sts on holder.

    Sleeve
    Work as for first sleeve, place 15 (17, 19, 20, 22) sts on holder, and join sleeve to body by knitting across sleeve sts with smaller circular needle holding body sts.
    Work rem 42 (50, 49, 58, 56) body sts to complete round [278 (300, 322, 350, 370) sts].
    Work even in St st for 3.5 (3.5, 4, 4, 4.5)".
    Next rnd: *K1, k2tog, rep from * to end of rnd.
