From "Knitty Gritty" episode DKNG-108 |

|
Leigh Radford has designed a clever drawstring bag that serves as a nonthreatening introduction to the knitting technique called intarsia. When working with a variety of colors, knitters have their own personal preferences about how to handle the individual lengths of yarn, so check out her suggestions and see which one works best for you.

Moss Stitch Row 1: K 1, p1 Row 2: repeat (pattern worked over even number of sts -- purl knit sts and knit purl sts) Tip: To help you keep your place on the chart as you knit, use a piece of stick-on note paper to mark your current row. Simply place the paper so it covers the previous rows and underlines the one you're knitting -- it's a lot less confusing than tryong to remember which row you were working on.

Then you're going to take your yarn and wrap it around the needle the same number of times that there are stitches. Once you've done that, you've got your length of yarn -- and you're good to go!
