    Pouch:

    Decorate pouch if desired.

    Emergency phone change:

Decorate 35mm film canister if desired and insert change (figure A).

    Rain poncho:

    1. Cut one side seam and the bottom seam open on a heavy-duty trash bag.

    2. Fold in half lengthwise and then again widthwise.

    3. Cut a 1/4-inch circle at the center folded point so that when you unfold it you have a perfect circle (figure B).

    4. Cut edges as needed for your height so that the poncho doesn't drag the ground.

    ID card:

    1. Trace the outline of a laminate card on your index card.

    2. Cut the index card to size at least 1/2-inch smaller all the way around edges.

    3. Write personal information on the index card (like name, address, phone, and emergency numbers). You can add your photo if you like.

    4. Decorate as you like.

    5. Laminate in card sleeve (figure C).

    Keychain:

Braid craft lace around keychain ring (figure D).

    Additions to kit:

You can add bandages, wipes and anything else you need to personalize your emergency kit and keep it in your backpack.

    Tips:
    • If you don't have a computer to make your ID, you can use an index card.

    • If you don't have a clear pouch, you can use a zippered plastic bag.

Products: All products can be found at craft, general-purpose, and dollar stores nationwide. No special products are needed.
