    The guys have dug holes for the posts supporting the mosaic panels, and each panel is carefully set in place (figure A)

    Because the patio sits up fairly high, Dean wants to raise the level of the yard a bit. More topsoil is added, and the slate pieces that were removed from the pathway are repositioned to frame the patio.
