- Take stock of your glassware and tools of the trade. Make sure that things are clean and that you have enough glassware. Restaurant supply stores have large selections of sturdy, inexpensive glasses that can be bought in bulk. Look in the Yellow Pages.
- Items that you will need:
- Ice bucket and tongs
- Corkscrew and bottle opener
- Cocktail Shaker
- Strainer
- Jigger measure
- Zester
- Napkins
- ICE
- The well-stocked bar will have Vodka, Gin, Scotch, Tequila, Rum and Bourbon, Red Wine and White Wine.
- Wine Tips Wine needs to be stored on its side to make opening easier (the cork stays moist). Don't over chill the wine. Open red wine up one hour prior to your guest's arrival.
- Mixers are club soda, ginger ale, tonic water, orange juice, cranberry juice, tomato and pineapple juice.
- Garnishes include lemons, limes, maraschino cherries, and olives.
- Don't forget to include some non-alcoholic options.
- Have the first round of drinks ready. Pair your drinks with your party concept for example Margaritas for a Mexican theme.
- Set out some salty snacks.
