    Gourd Sneaker

    1. Cut your pieces from your penguin gourds and a flat piece gourd according to the pattern.

    2. Clean the seeds and pulp out and discard. Sand the pieces smooth.

    3. Use the super glue to glue the pieces together.

    4. Use Elmer's Wood Filler to fill in all the seams.

    5. Wet your fingers and smooth out as much as possible.

    6. Let dry, then you will use the air dry clay to build on top of your shoe.

    7. Make your shoe tongue and shoe strings with the clay (figure A) and use your wet fingers to smooth onto the gourd. Build some clay around the soul of the shoe.

    8. Let this dry but get it as smooth as possible while wet, then after it dries do light sanding.

    9. Paint the base coat white and then paint your design on.

    10. Seal with acrylic sealer.
