Repairing Drywall Hole- The first thing you need to know is the hole repair is going to be bigger than the hole.
- Cut out a piece of wood or use a piece of drywall that is bigger than the hole, trace it around.
- Use a drywall saw to cut out the piece that you just traced. Use a brace which is a little paint stick, screw it in the inside of the hole in the wall. You want it to be in place to keep our patch from falling through the hole. Screw the brace behind the hole in the wall.
- Remove handle screw. Put patch in place. Put spackle over the patch. Spackle the edges.
- Fill in the mess areas. Use fiber glass from a screen to seal. Put another layer. Use putty to cover patch.
- Keep it on for an hour to set. Put another layer on. In between the layers drying, sand it.
- Before you know it, you'll have a smooth wall.
