- Freeze some coffee ahead of time in an ice cube tray.
- Let it cool first before pouring.
- Be sure to label well--so that no one encounters a coffee surprise in their lemonade!
Note: You can do the same for lemonade and ice tea. - For "cool" cubes, things such as whole raspberries, mint leaves, triangles of orange, lemon, lime, maraschino cherries, olives and edible flowers freeze well.
- Place your "filling of choice" in the tray first.
- Cover with water (figure A).
Tip: Check 15 minutes later to see if any of the items float to the top. If so, push down. Note: Cool cubes are fun for a cocktail party or picnic. - If you don't use the entire can of chicken or beef stock, you can also pour the stock into ice trays and freeze them for later use.
