A: Borrow or rent a steam extraction machine. You can try to spot it first, but then do the steam extraction.
Q: How do you remove salad dressing from the carpet of the car?

One cleaning problem that generates a lot of emails is how to clean a textured ceiling in the bathroom. The kind of textured ceiling you'd often find in a bathroom is made of foam balls, and if you get them too wet, they fall off. Because it has an irregular surface, it's tough to clean. First of all, try to avoid it getting dirty: be sure to vent the bathroom.
If the ceiling does get dirty, however, start the cleaning process by vacuuming it with the duster brush on your vacuum cleaner (figure A). Then combine a little chlorine bleach and water (figure B) and use cotton swabs to clean with (figure C). Be sure not to over-wet the surface. Sometimes the ceiling can't be cleaned; in that case, just paint over it, using a stain-blocking primer to keep mold and mildew from re-forming on the surface.
