Members of the studio audience have a batch of cleaning questions.
Q: How do you remove grease from a new concrete garage floor?

A: Sprinkle clumping cat litter on the stain and grind it into the grease with your foot. Continue working it into the stain over a period of two to three weeks. Next, sweep up the cat litter and spray the area with oven cleaner. Let it set on the area for 10 minutes, then rinse off. Keep pets and children away from the area during the cleaning process.Q: How do you remove car grease from clothes?

A: Use waterless hand cleaner for large stains. If there is just a small spot of grease on the clothing, pour a can of cola into the wash cycle with the detergent to remove the stain.

Q: Will anything remove red nail polish from cotton pants?

A: Use acetone nail-polish remover on the spot, after testing first on an inconspicuous area of the fabric. Drip it on slowly, working from the wrong side of the fabric. Blot as needed. This is a process that takes time, so when you're tired, stop and return to it at a later time. When the color is out, launder using a laundry pre-spotter.

Q: How do you remove a food spot from a suede skirt?

A: Make sure the spot is dry and then brush with a suede or soft-bristle brush. If the stain remains, brush on a little undiluted white vinegar, blot the area thoroughly and reset the nap.

Q: Will anything remove red wine stains from a blue tablecloth?

A: When red wine stains are still wet, salt will prevent the wine from staining the fabric. For older stains, soak in hydrogen peroxide, then launder as usual.
