    The Children's Museum in Cincinnati, Ohio, cleans up after hundreds of children every day, and the staff members follow a strict cleaning calendar to ensure that every toy is regularly rounded up for cleaning (figure A).

    • Plastic "produce" from Little Sprouts Farm that often finds itself being tasted by little mouths is washed daily in industrial dishwashers (figure B).

    • Items too big for the dishwashers are cleaned and sanitized by the housekeeping staff.

    • Towels, blankets, doll clothes and soft toys are washed every night with hot water and nontoxic detergent.

    • Balls are put in net bags and washed every other week in the dishwashers (figure C). Then they sit out a week while clean balls are put into play.

    • Dolls have baths and shampoos every other week (figure D).

    • Rocks on the construction site are cleaned every other week.

    • Food in the grocery store is washed and restocked every night.

    • Stuffed animals are bathed regularly.
