    Figure A

If you find cleaning window screens a difficult chore, try this fail-safe recipe from the host of Spruce It Up With the Queen of Clean: Outside the Castle, Linda Cobb.

    Ingredients:

    2 Tbs. liquid dishwashing soap
    1/4 cup ammonia
    2 Tbs. borax

Place these ingredients in a bucket with warm water.

    1. Soak the screen up with a wet sponge and then dip the sponge in the solution and really suds up the screens.

    2. Place a rag on the ground and tap the window screen on the rag (figure A) to get the soapy dirty water off.

    3. Rinse the screens and then place back on the windows once they are dry.
