Host Stephanie Lydecker demonstrates how easy it is to make a bouquet garni, a French technique meaning "bundle of herbs," to flavor soups and stews.
Materials:cheese cloth string scissors herbs: parsley, thyme and bay leaf (fresh or dried) How to Make a Bouquet Garni - The classic combination for a bouquet garni is three stalks of celery, one sprig of thyme and one bay leaf. You can use any combination you desire.
- Cut a 5" x 5" square or round of cheese cloth and a piece of string.
- Tie the herbs together in a little bundle with a piece of string.
- Add the bouquet garni to any stew, sauce or casserole you are preparing.
- Remove the bundle before serving.
