    To warm up Nadine Burke's stark grey concrete garage floor, the crew paints it a deep bronze and then rolls on two bright colors, a rich red in the cinema area and bright orange under the billiard table (figure A). This will help break up the space by turning one long rectangle into two graphic squares with a rich backdrop.

    chalk line
    painters tape
    large paint trays
    large rollers
    extension handles
    angled brushes
    paint mugs
    paint visor
    Rich Brown (Benjamin Moore 60)
    Boston Brick (Benjamin Moore 2092-30)
    custom Rust

    1. Thoroughly sweep and mop surface.
    2. Tape off section of floor to be painted.
    3. Roll on Rich Brown (figure B) .
    4. Let dry overnight.
    5. Use chalk line to mark off two sections, tape and varnish.
    6. Roll on 2092-30 Boston Brick in one section and custom mix rust (figure C).
