Kona Coffee Ice Cream (Makes 1-1/2 quarts)Ingredients: 3 eggs, plus 1 yolk 1-1/4 cup sugar 1-1/4 cup whole milk 2 cups heavy whipping cream 2 tsp. vanilla 3 tbsp. ground Kona coffee 1/2 cup hot water
1. Pour the ground coffee into the hot water, and then stir until it's dissolved. 2. Let it stand for four minutes, and then strain well (figure E). 3. Beat the eggs and sugar in a mixer until thick and creamy. 4. Add the remainder of the ingredients ,and then mix well. 5. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker (figure F), and then follow the manufacturer's instructions for making ice cream.
