    1. Label one short end of the board as the top of the mask and the other short end of the board as the bottom of the mask.

    2. Measure 10 inches from one long side at several points down the board. Connect these points to divide the board in half.

    3. At the bottom end, mark the board at nine inches from each side. Mark each side at six inches from the bottom. Connect these two marks to create a triangle on each bottom corner.

    4. Using a metal ruler as a guide, cut through the board at the bottom corner triangles—removing and saving the triangles. Note: Don't try to cut all the way through the foam core, cut through once, fold the piece back to create a crease on the other side, turn the board over and cut along the crease.

    5. At the top of the mask, measure and mark eight inches from the top and one inch from the side on both sides. Cut a 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch hole at each of these marks.

    6. Place the right angles of the cut-away triangles back-to-back, creating one long triangle shape. Hot glue the pieces together, and then reinforce with heavy duty tape (figure A).

    7. Using a metal ruler as a guide, cut along—but not through—the line dividing the board in half, creating a fold line in the board (figure B). Fold the board gently to create an angled mask shape.

    8. Place the long triangle shape behind the fold (between the middle and the top of the mask) matching the angle of the folded mask with the angle of the long triangle piece.

    9. Glue the long triangle shape in place on the back of the mask, and then reinforce with heavy duty tape (figure C). Cut away any of the triangle points that extend beyond the sides of the mask.

    10. Spray one half of the front of the mask with spray adhesive, and then lay the burlap over and smooth-out flat.

    11. Spray the other half of the front of the mask with spray adhesive, and then lay the remaining burlap over and smooth-out flat (figure D).

    12. Cut through the burlap at the holes in the foam board.

    13. Turn the mask over (face down).

    14. Tear several pieces of corn husk into thin strips. Glue the strips of corn husks along the top edge of the mask so they extend four or five inches beyond the top of the mask.

    15. Glue the pieces of multi-colored dried grass over the corn husk so that the grass extends about eight inches beyond the top of the mat.
