Drink Garnish Topiary Tree and Drink Station SetupMaterials -- 2 cone-shaped topiaries in urn base Vine (honeysuckle or bittersweet, depending on preference) Greening pins Beverage garnishes Marshmallows Cinnamon sticks Peppermint candy Candied orange Toffee candy bar Dark chocolate for melting White chocolate for melting Skewers
Drink Garnish Topiary Tree- Use greening pins to attach vine to the top of the cones.
- Spiral the vine around the cone, using additional pins to secure (figure A).
Expert Tip: Natural vines are often very stiff and sometimes hard to work with. To make them more pliable, soak them in a tub of water overnight. - Melt the white and dark chocolates in the microwave.
- Place a marshmallow on the end a skewer and dip it into the white or dark chocolate (figure B) and then into one of the crushed topping. Repeat the process for the cinnamon sticks. Place a skewer in the cinnamon stick and then dip the stick in the chocolate and topping.
- When placing the skewers and cinnamon sticks into the cone topiaries, alternate marshmallow rolls and cinnamon rolls (figure C).
Fall Leaf Table Topper Materials --
Sheer tablecloth to fit table (tablecloth should hang over edges of table, but not reach floor) Hot glue gun Hot glue sticks Artificial fall leaves
- Use hot glue to attach fall leaves in a band around the hem of the tablecloth (figure D).
Note: Be sure to allow all glue to cool before placing on table. Hot glue will penetrate the sheer fabric and could stick to the table surface if not cooled properly.
- Drape the tablecloth over the table.
- To set up the warm beverage station, you will need four three quart chafing dishes and ladles (one chafing dish for each type of drink).
- Position the two topiaries in the center of the table.
- Place the chafing dishes, ladles and mugs on the table last (figure E).
- Place additional fall leaves around the table, keeping them away from the bottoms of the chafing dishes.
Expert Tip:While your chafing dishes are keeping your warm beverages warm, allow your guests to serve themselves by using a ladle that has a pour spout. This will make it easier for them and neater for you.
