Q: A friend gave me a box of candlesticks. They don't all match -- and I'm wondering if I should still put them out.

A: By all means, put them on display! They don't have to match; by using candlesticks of different heights and shapes, you can create wonderful dimension. Play with them a while until you discover how they look best. They'll make a really interesting display.

Q: I've always wanted to be able to fold napkins so they look classy. Can you show me how to do this?

A: There are many simple yet elegant options for napkin-folding. A basic fan folded fan with a napkin ring to hold it in place is one easy choice; a triangle created from a four-fold square is another.

Q: I'm throwing a party for a few couples and I want to dress up my dining room chairs. Do you know anything I could do that's pretty quick and not too expensive?"

A: Fresh flowers, sashes of decorative fabric or full slipcovers (either handmade or store-bought) are all great options that are cost-effective and easy to do.

Q: The last time my wife and I made fondue, it got runny and it burned. She wants to make it again, for company. Can you show me the right way to do it?

A: Make sure to not add excess liquid to your fondue recipes -- and use a good-quality cheese for cheese fondues. If you're looking for something a little more interesting, try a milk chocolate fondue served with fruit on skewers.
