Black Tie Affair: Invitations From "Weekend Entertaining" episode WKE-206

Create a tuxedo invitation for your Black Tie cocktail party.

This party is rated 2 on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the most difficult, and is geared toward the skills of a frequent entertainer.

Materials for Invitations --

Hole punch
Black and white card stock
Vellum paper
Thin black satin ribbon

Invitations

1. Cut out black cardstock to 5" x 7" or whatever size you prefer. Using the white cardstock cut out two triangles. Punch three holes in a straight line on each triangle at the pointed end. Glue these triangles onto the black cardstock with the points of the triangle in the center of the card (figure A). This will resemble a tuxedo.

2. Computer print your party invitation on vellum paper and lay that over the black and white card. Punch two holes at the top of the card.

3. Make small bowties out of the black satin ribbon and thread through the holes at the top (figure B).
