    Pieces of old skirts and dresses have been sewn onto this chaise lounge to give it new life and add character to the room.
    Materials:

    Skirts or dresses
    Scissors
    Spray adhesive
    Stapler
    Sewing tools

    Note: Shop at thrift stores for dresses and full skirts with fun fabrics that match the style and tone of your room. Keep in mind durability of high traffic seating areas when choosing fabrics.

    1. Cut the skirts and dresses into their original patterned pieces, or create your own shapes--making sure to cut off the frayed seam allowance.

    2. Working with the existing shapes and patterning original pieces, begin to make a huge "quilt" roughly in the shapes needed to slip cover your piece.

    3. Try a combination of slip covering (figure A), and then attaching straight to the couch using spray adhesive, sewing or stapling to the bottom edge of the piece.
