 No need for a table lamp here! This bedside table is the lamp in the room, created simply by combiningg an industrial-size spotlight and a store-bought light fixture.

Materials: Spotlight housing Standard porcelain ceiling fixture with Edison plug Wood or plastic for non-conductive base Metal screws Dimmer switch Colored gel Electrical tape Drill gun with bit for metal Tin snips Standard screw driver
Note: Large spotlight housing can be found or bought. 1. Clean the spotlight housing and bang out any dents.
2. Add standard porcelain ceiling fixture. Make sure to cover any exposed metal with non-conductive materials.
3. Add the bottom to the base of the spotlight housing. Cut the stovepipe, ductwork, or galvanized steel piece to desired size. Keep in mind the size of the spotlight and the stovepipe base or ductwork take-off when determining the height.
4. Attach the metal cylinder to the base. Cut the cylinder to create a fan that will hug the spotlight. Mark the contact points, pre-drill holes and attach with sheet metal screws (figure A).5. Add a dimmer if desired. 6. Place a sheet of colored gel on top of the spotlight. Remove the glass top from the spotlight and trace onto the gel (figure B). Cut out the gel, and then use electrical tape and glass top rim to adhere the gel to the top. Project Expense: Spotlight: Free Stovepipe: $16 Materials: $8 Total: $24
