Fabric
Luan
Leaf hinge
Screws
Glue

Jig saw
Staple gun

1. Remove the fabric from the bottom of the chair (figure A).

2. Take off the top (screws in the bottom), and then remove all the fabric from the chair and cushion.

3. Cut the lip off of the back edge of the seat.

4. Use the seat section as a template to mark 1/4" luan.

5. Cut 1/4" luan for the bottom (figure B).

6. Attach the luan to the bottom of the chair seat with screws.

7. Hinge the seat to the chair base with one max 4" x 2" leaf hinge (use screws no longer than 3/4").

8. Unscrew the hinge.

9. Re-wrap all pieces in fabric of your choice (figure C).

10. Reattach the hinge.
