Materials:Dining room chairs Fabric Luan Leaf hinge Screws Glue Staples Jig saw Staple gun - Remove the fabric from the bottom of the chair (figure A).
- Take off the top (screws in the bottom), and then remove all the fabric from the chair and cushion.
- Cut the lip off of the back edge of the seat.
- Use the seat section as a template to mark 1/4" luan.
- Cut 1/4" luan for the bottom (figure B).
- Attach the luan to the bottom of the chair seat with screws.
- Hinge the seat to the chair base with one max 4" x 2" leaf hinge (use screws no longer than 3/4").
- Unscrew the hinge.
- Re-wrap all pieces in fabric of your choice (figure C).
- Reattach the hinge.
