    This project turns ornate frames into a contemporary photo exhibit that artists Marvin and Lucy are sure to enjoy.
    Materials:

    Thrift store ornate frames
    Primer
    Paint
    Sandpaper
    Store bought contemporary frames and hardware
    Picture wire
    Eyelets
    Pliers
    Paint brushes
    Drill
    Screwdriver

    1. Choose ornate, sizable painting frames without the glass (figure A).

    2. Remove the paintings and internal framing if necessary from the frames.

    3. Clean the frames and remove any screws or staples.

    4. Paint the frames a desired color--paying attention to any detail work on the frame.

    5. Determine the placement of the internal hardware based on the size and weight of the pictures you plan on hanging inside. It's recommended that you place the internal hardware approximately 1-2 inches below the frame opening.

    6. Add the internal photo hanging hardware, two eyelets, picture wire, and the picture hook to the frame.

    7. Add the hanging hardware for the installation of the photo on the wall (figure B).

    8. Hang the photo frame and the internal photo or art (figure C).

    Change out the internal image whenever you like.
