Most of Kena's free time is spent with friends and family hanging out in her loft. The loft is nice, but she would like it to be more "grown-up" while keeping a young and funky theme.

David, Mike and Samantha get started by choosing "bolder" accent colors for the walls (figure A). Kena will paint the walls while the designers go back to their shop to work on the other projects that will be added to the room.

The projects will include the following:

    • A recovered -- not reupholstered -- couch.

    • A mega mobile ("hanging art") that will hang from the second-story window down to the living area.

    • And a storage-seating unit (bench) will be placed in front of the windows.

Note: Most of the materials used in these projects were bought at a thrift store or picked up from items left for garbage pick-up.

The designers are off to find some "funky" stuff for Kena's loft.
