It takes a little work, but once an old-fashioned sink and faucet have been installed, the results are gorgeous (figure A). Use porcelain sink pedestals as candleholders (figure B) or an antique ashtray stand as a fern pedestal (figure C). A beautiful art deco armoire from the 1920s, fitted with shelves, becomes a home entertainment center (figure D). The shelving was installed without modifying the armoire, so it retains its value (figure E).
