    It's a window -- it's a table -- it's a one-of-a-kind piece of furniture you'll be proud to show off in your home!

Nancy Golden, host of DIY's Decorating and Design, shows how to make a custom coffee table from an old glass-paned window.

    Materials:

Window (choose one with a finish that isn't too damaged, preferably with a wide frame for stability)
Four ready-made legs, about 15" in height
Paint (we used gray for the base coat and ivory for the top coat to match the finish on the window frame)
    White glue
    Dish
    Brushes
Four base plates (available at hardware stores)
    Screwdriver
Glass to fit top of table
Embellishments (seashells, lace, old jewelry, etc.)

    1. If necessary, sand or touch up the window frame.

    2. Apply a base coat to the legs and let dry.

    3. Pour white glue into a dish and brush onto first leg. Let it dry slightly, until it begins to form a skin.

    4. Brush the top coat over the glue. As the glue begins to dry, it will cause the paint to crack. Repeat with the other three legs.

    5. Attach a base plate to each corner, then screw a leg into each base plate.

    6. Fill each pane with whatever items you wish, and top with the glass for your own decorator coffee table.
